Holy crap.

Crystal Ball is in a month!

I'm excited. That much dance in that short a time period should be illegal. But is thankfully not.

I'm teaching Beginning English Country with Arina, from Three Rivers. I'll be teaching Heart's Ease, Gathering Peascods, Upon a Summer's Day, and Jenny Pluck Pears, and I'm pretty excited. So's Jib, as I'm finally teaching a class. Finally! I know. I still need to plan out a score of other classes to teach (although, I think that by being a hands-on learner, I'm a hands-on teacher, so most of mine might be make and take-type classes).

[livejournal.com profile] summersdream? Will you get a hold of me? We need to figure out logistics for getting there ASAP. Thanks, darlin'. You know how I like to plan things. :)

Anyway.

So, the blue-surcote of doom is -so- not getting done in time. Unless I break out the sewing machine and go about it that way. . .but, as I can't lift anything as per medical orders, I think I may just end up with not getting it done. I hate sewing, no lie, mostly because I know I'm no good at it. Embroidery I can do, but it also frustrates me, too. In short, as much as I love fibre arts, they drive me nuts. It's probably a lack of patience. Maybe. (Yeah, I so wouldn't make it in the real Middle Ages. I know. I'm too spirited.)

If you teach Heart's Ease, you should teach Rufty Tufty. They are usually done back to back.

I love Rufty Tufty, but as Arina and I were not in charge of the dance sets (or what we were teaching), we may not teach it. It's a shame, as it's as easy as it is.

It just depends on time.

Hmmm..... I'm being crazy and stupid, I'm sure, but would you be looking for some help on the sewing blue-surcote of doom, if it was machine sewed, and depending on the time frame? (And depending on how much is left... I know I'm in a crunch for time for Halloween, but I'd be willing to help if I could... We could to a trade, as money is still probably tight for both of us. :P Just thought I'd throw that it.

Well, that could work. Machine-sewing is more than fine with me. A lot of it is already pinned together, and at the very least basted together.

Also, what sort of thing would you like to trade for it? I'm decent with the jewellery thing, and I can send photos of jewellery your way so you can choose.

Hmm, got a quick pic of the piece so I can get an idea of what's left to do? that why I can get a better idea of what I'd take for a trade.. (Jewelery fine.)

And you need this by the end of the month, for
Crystal Ball (What ever that is, I'm not keeping up with events as of late! lol) right?

I'll have to when it's light outside, but I'll be sure to do that for you.

And yes, I'll need it for Crystal Ball on November the 8th. :) I'll trim it as I need to, so don't worry too much about that. As for jewellery, here's a few examples. :)

Cool. I look forward to it. ;)

I'll look at the jewelery pic later, my lunch break is just about over..

Hey, I've been meaning to ask, how's that cape I made holding up?

The cape is wonderful. :) I attached a clasp I found at Walmart to it, and it works fantastically. :)

I'm in the process of shooting more photos of the jewellery, and I'll put those up at that link when I've got those done.

Woops, sorry I haven't gotten back to you. >_< my bad, I', running a costume contest over on DA, so all me "net" time keeps getting sucked up by that.

I'm so glad to hear that! :D Make my day when I hear a piece is still getting used.

Ok, on the trade thing, if you still wanna do that, I really like the look of this piece, http://flickr.com/photos/belle-etoile/2633545172/in/set-72157606639182852/ , though I prefer the blues of this one http://flickr.com/photos/belle-etoile/2744856979/in/set-72157606639182852/

I could definitely make you a necklace in the style of the first one with the blue beads. (The first one's on consignment currently, and a little difficult for me to get to right now.)

I'll have the current pictures up pretty soon. What should I take photos of so you know if you can do it or not? :)

omg you're the teacher!! lol that's awesome!
If I wasn't gone psychotic this semester I'd be over for practices. ... but no. No. I had to take a full load this semester. Why did I do that again?

As for the traveling: are you still thinking the train? It would probably be cheaper considering gas and the sheer psychological horror of driving in st louis.

:)

It's okay. Believe me, I sooo understand.

I've looked at the pricing, and it's $50 round trip each, and we'd have to pack lighter than normal, as we're under similar conditions as if we flew. If that's the case, I'll need to let Cathus know about this, so we can get picked up from the station. (They live about 15 minutes away, so this is a good thing.)

what are the dates for CB?

I think the train would be the best bet. have we figured out crash space?

November 8th.

And Cathus told me we're staying with them. :)

Also, we have one other confirmed person. I sent a list of the pros and cons of the train's timetable on Facebook, but I'll just copy and paste what I wrote here because I'm lazy and I know your apathy for all things Facebook.

------------

I am so totally excited for this event. You have no idea.

At any rate, I'd like to go over plans for leaving for St. Louis with y'all, and a few other things.

First off. We will be taking a train. The reason behind this is due to two things. One is driving in St. Louis and how not very fun that can sometimes end up being. Two is due to how little we're going to end up sleeping. It's an all night ball. It happens. That isn't to say that you won't get sleep...but you're just not going to get a lot of it. Or at least, don't plan on getting a lot of it.

So, that brings us to the train aspects. We have two options for leaving from KC: 7:30 am or 4:00 pm. 7:30 am has the perk of us getting into St. Louis early. The bad news is that I don't think we'd have much to do with all of our crap with us. 4:00 pm is a perk as I'm sure this gives us a little bit more time to work with in terms of getting to KC. We'd have to leave about 1:30 in the afternoon to make sure we have everything ready to go. It is $50 for a round trip ticket. I am more than willing to buy the tickets so that we are all able to sit together, however, I must be reimbursed. (Just because I have a job does not mean that the Rachel is made of money. :P )

As for getting back (which would be a good thing, right?), we have our options of leaving at 8:30 am or 4:00 pm. The good news is that our hosts live fifteen minutes or so from the station. The bad news is a little thing called lack of sleep.

I'm leaving the choices up to you guys. I have my preferences, but I'd rather hear a vote so I know which tickets to get.

Secondly. What to pack. [livejournal.com profile] summersdream, I know you've done the event thing, so I'm not as worried about you. For everyone else, I would urge you to pack as lightly as possible.

Here's what I'm looking to pack.

Garb (if you need garb, let me know, and I will try and get you loaner garb at the very least. You should only need one change of garb, unless you want to be fancy and change halfway through the event.)

Regular clothes. (The event is in November. Nakedness would probably not be appreciated by those on the train. :P)

Personal items. (You and I all know what these are.)

Sleeping stuff. (If you can pack a sleeping bag/blanket/pillow, I'm sure this would help out our hosts when it comes to sleeping arrangements.)

Money. (If you want to get into the site, it is $13, with a $12 feast. It is up to you to decide if you want to sit feast, although there is nothing wrong with going to a fast food joint in garb. I find it fun to scare people...but I would.)

Feastgear. (If you do decide to sit feast, you should probably pack things to eat on and with. A plate, spoon, goblet/glass, and a knife should be all you should require.)

That should be it. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me.
-----------

I think we're good. :)
