My personality type: the independent thinker

We just got hit by a batch of nasty storms, and even had to go down to the basement once tonight. I'm hoping no more for a little, though I do like the rather nice temps (we're back in the sixties!) for now.

I battled a migraine earlier today, though I think that was due to the weather changing and all. Even then, I didn't feel well, and Anti made me dinner, which was nice.

In SCA stuff, I'm growing very frustrated with sewing trim on. I'm not the best seamstress on the planet, and it's very obvious here. I think I've managed to prick myself four or five times, plus nearly ruin the trim twice. Grarh.

This is one of the many reasons I brew and bake. Barter is wonderful. "I'll give you a bottle of mead if you sew this hem for me." or "I'll make a batch of mead for you if you make me this dress." "Oh, you don't drink. How about a chocolate torte in exchange for you excellant sewing skills?" And it often works with vendors too. Especially at Pennsic.

I can't say it works every time but it works often enough that I have a nifty medieval wardrobe and no sewing skills.

I'm still learning other skills (I'm not bad at kumihimo, but I'm also still learning), and none of them good enough for me to barter comfortably for other items.

Well, wait, I did barter a pair of earrings, and I got mead in exchange, which was pretty rockin'. Until then, I'm sewing.
