[Public] dear cosmos:

Please pay your heating bill.

It’s frackin’ cold.

I really should be working on my projects, but I’m far too cold to do so. (projects including a Christmas present and finishing locking down stitches on my Byzantine.) For those of you playing at home, the Byzantine has the following things done with it:

✔ Collar beaded
✔ Trim affixed to not only the tunica, but also the dalmatic (my mother is awesome.)
✔ Roundels on front embroidered

What still needs to happen is the following:

✘ All embroidery stitches locked down
✘ Back of gown marked (little x on the back - I’m sick of forgetting where front is)
✘ Find something to work for headgear - veils and I don’t get along, but a sprang or crocheted hairnet/snood might work well

With any luck, I’ll have all of this done by Winter War Maneuvers. Also, hopefully done before Maneuvers is digging out my bards staff (which never makes it to events, strangely enough) so that I might be able to serve guard at Dolan’s vigil if necessary. (Hey, I can look menacing. Sort of.)

Anyway, I’m going to hopefully warm up with a nice layer of blankets in the recliner, and proceed to make waffenrock brushes for Photoshop.

If there’s enough interest, I may just even offer it as a brush pack for download. (Is that a yes or no, y’all? Lemme know.)

It's a Huh? What, exactly, in plain simple terms that a layman could understand, is a "waffenrock brush"?

Basically, Photoshop has what's called brushes. They can be used as stamps, or as brushes in digitally painting in details.

A waffenrock is a German garment - the Swiss guard wear a modified one, for reference.

When is Winter war maneuvers? I make crocheted snoods and can make one in a day or two if I have time. Let me know what color you want and where to send it.

In two weeks, but don't worry about it. It's one of those eventual things because I'm picky about how I want it to look, and I'd rather commission it.
