Green's an earth tone. So's purple. :P

Really though, too much? The green still won't photograph right - I think it's the semi-metallic it's woven with.

It may just be the way the two pieces photographed, but I think a darker purple or red would be a more harmonious choice. Is the trim tablet woven or purchased?

Tablet woven. I'll be trying again in a few to see if it makes a difference as to colours. (The downside of fabric that is half-natural fibre/half not with lustre.)

You know, if it were me, I would save the tablet woven trim for another garment (maybe a light white tunic for summer, or a mantle/shawl) where the work that went into the trim could really be appreciated. Because that is some great trim, and I think the pattern would get lost in the green fabric and the colors would fight each other.

I think you're right. Hrm. I'll go check out my fabric stash and see what I've got, otherwise, I won't be going Byzantine to Chieftains.
