how in the name of little green apples do you pronounce this?
don't ask me. I study Polish names, but can't pronounce them
YAHD-vee-gah unpronounceable summatPolishname.
So an extra 'n' gets you a divorce?
wow if that was all it took..
What? You don't get a blow-up crown?
My goal when pronouncing French is to make Bruni twitch.
Yeah, see how smug y'all are at the next Gaelic name
Gaelic all sounds like sneezes anyway. And that's the way they're written - as if somebody sneezed on the paper.
pony!
pony?
pony.
ermehgerd perney.
pwny?
Is "Alys get your keys" like "Annie get your gun"?
type faster Pellycan!
Although the SCA _does_ exist in that series of books, so their CoA probably _would_ have to protect that name... :)
(is this like that story about the vaguely squarish man in early Tudor garb who wasn't good enough to be a Tuchux?)
Reading the entrails of pixie dust says that 'vom' is closer to what the submitter wants.
don't make me stop this procession Gise
This letter is by way of making up for Good Lord, Jedi Knight and Rat Bastard
I shudder to think that anyone would call a Gaelic name 'nice'.
let's begin with a low grade Misty Mountain and progress in measured doses from there.
new CL item: "From Pelican: Norse quota filled"
Can you announce the Gaelic quota first, please?
hey! who's driving? She's been drinking! :-P
behold Lillia's ultimate power!
now she can kick any misbehaving yahoos
oh look another Byzantine name. Wonder if the submitter knows certain people in Calontir. :-)
y connection? because connection
C is for Caid, that's good enough for you?
"...despair, heartbreak, and tragic loss: this LoI is from Calontir."
This is why people hate Gaelic.
"Submissions heralds, report for summary punishment" or something like that.
'summary punishment' sounds exciting to watch
you missed the punishment
punishment wasn't summarized properly
_Trimaris_
Do I *have* to?
I try not to think about Trimaris, really...
I don't want to go to Trimaris...
What are we waiting for? Punishments? Punishing?
Violence?
Meridies?
Yup, Meridies
I like _requesta_
rimes with margarita
and you can say requesta with accompanying jazz hands
but if Gandalf did it, it must be period
She arrives at the table to ask for us to register the byname "the half-naked Frisian"
Her documentation was her AoA scroll, in which the scribe calls her "B____ the half-naked Frisian"
Submitter starts the consult with "So before I joined the SCA I went to my psychic and had her do a past life regression. I was a Celtic wisewoman in 6th century Ireland whose name began with C and had 5 letters. Can do you that form me?"
