I has a Mac.

And it works. And I love it. :D

In other, not so happy news, my day SUCKED. A lot. I'm trying not to let people get to me, but after five or six different people have said the exact same thing over and over, it gets a little old. And I don't want to deal with it. Nor do I like cleaning up other people's messes. It's not like they can't clean as they go. I did, and I still do. Even if I'm running late. It makes things easier on myself. Sooooo much easier.

It just feels like I'm babysitting forty-year olds, right now. That's a problem. How come I have to be the professional one, and they don't? Seriously. The only good thing to come out of today's work day was getting to go home early. And that was it.

My back's out of whack again, I'm missing my SCA friends (again), and I seriously am disliking life right now.

I know, I'm griping. I'm sorry. It's just not something I do all the time. And I need to get it off my chest, that's all.

After doing nothing on Labor Day, I went to work today after a day sick on Tuesday. I know, I know. Stop getting sick. I'm working on it.

Anyway. Today wasn't half bad. I was kept crazy-busy, which may have accounted for my lack of tiredness now. Or my sleeping for twelve hours yesterday. I haven't decided yet.

Meanwhile, Jib IMmed me to tell me that my seat at Coronation feast is reserved. YAY! Best Brother ever. I'm so excited. The downside...I miss my family on Family Day. It's all right, but I really wish I could see them more often than I do at times. Oh, well. I'll see them plenty in October, November, and December. I'm getting excited for Coronation...but I seriously need to sit down and bead. Badly. The boys picked up some beads for me in St. Joe, and some charms, including a little knight charm. I have no idea what I'm going to do with that quite yet. So, I have no excuses. I just need to sit down and bead away. Or else. I also need to make time to work on my QP project, too. Argh.

My to-do list is pretty big, too. And I have to pack my plastic tub so that it survives Martinus' pickup and the five hours up from Bethany. [livejournal.com profile] summersdream: I'll know by Friday the approximate time I'll be met there. It could be six or it could be eight (at night, of course.) At any rate, I'm excited.

See y'all there?

...as does that little present. Bah. Of all the times I hate genetics, or at least mine in particular, now is it. cut for general squick...feel free to skip over. ) Thanks also to Grandmama, I get migraines, too, especially during and before that little present. I've had one for 48 hours. Bah.

Despite the headache, I've been pressing ahead to get product made before Coronation. (and I have a ride, too! Thank you, Martinus!) My biggest roadblock is using these nifty cork beads I found. Cork as a beading product isn't period for SCA purposes, at least in what little research I've done. BUT. I want to use them for something. I almost have half a notion to make little Calontir key floaties out of them, knowing how buoyant cork is...but I definitely need to see if the cork can hold up a few keys. (They're 20mm beads, so they're pretty massive, but even cork isn't that buoyant.) Ideas are appreciated. Otherwise, I'm going to go get purple spray paint and then paint little falcons on them in gold.

Speaking of falcons, I found nifty charms online today. I want them. They'd make amazing largesse. Charm number one (link) so could work, but I really like charm number two (link). There is so much potential there, but even then, I'm not sure how I'd use them. I think they'd look stunning on a simple silver chain, myself. And yes, they have them in gold, too. I want just one for myself to show my love for Calontir. (Why, no, I'm not a dork. :P)

Anyway. I'm going to go crash. I need to. And to think, all I've done is sleep.

Oh! I'm supposed to have girl night with [livejournal.com profile] summersdream and Serenity sometime this weekend. I'm hoping Labor Day is open for her (please come back before then, Summer! We need girl time. And I need to dance. Badly. Especially before the Coronation Ball!), but even then, my weekends are pretty open.

[livejournal.com profile] lost_in_mowhere is sick again, and it worries me. Dammit, man. Stop getting sick. It's not good for you.

Anti was really sweet yesterday when I came home early from work. He told me to lay down, and he rubbed my feet, and with no complaint, and then rubbed my back until I fell asleep. I may whine about him sometimes, and there are times I want to wring his neck, but there are also times I'm madly in love with him and respect him to no end. This was such a time. The point is, relationships aren't always a walk in the park. Don't let eHarmony fool ya. Every relationship has its ups and downs, and we've been through our share of them, and we'll still face a bunch more. But deep down, I love, respect, and admire him, and I know he loves, respects, and admires me. And that's the crux of a strong relationship.

Anyway. I'm getting all sleep-addled, so I better go. I have photos of the cork beads that I'll upload later so you can see, but on the whole, I'm open to any suggestions on using them.

I'm also crazy sleep deprived.  I think I need to get to bed soon...but computer.  Play.  Yay!

I'm working on [livejournal.com profile] sidhes_court, I promise.  Promise!

I got the call from my mom this morning.

It's the end of the road for Chance this Saturday. I am besides myself with grief, and maybe just a touch of guilt. Mom told me she feels the same, but at the same point, I'm still not exactly happy with the outcome. So, I'll be in KC this weekend, but I'm not really going to feel like doing much, more than likely.

Mom's told me that he's not sleeping, and he's having more and more incontinence issues, and won't even eat on top of that, so maybe this is for the best. It still doesn't stop the pain. That's the problem. The pain is still there. And it hurts.

Sixteen years with Chance, at times, seemed like it was forever. Times like now, I realise how very little time that is.

Well, it's been a whirlwind weekend, and next week will certainly be lots of fun, too.

Saturday, I went to the KC Renaissance Festival (the last weekend and all) after a deanery meeting, and of course, I went in garb. Granted, I went in 14th century French garb, and not English Renaissance, but on the whole, the clothing of the Renaissance has a tendency to annoy me. Farthingales are uncomfortable, and I won't get started on slash and puff. Blech. It rained quite a bit, and so the bottom five inches from the hem up were totally covered in mud, and I had mud up to my knees. Still had loads of fun, and I'm hoping to get a few jewellery commissions, as I had a few cast members ask me where I picked up the necklace I wore (I'll post pictures later, once my camera figures out that behaving is a good thing). I made several connections (which was really cool), and just had a blast.

Sunday morning, I skipped church to work a hobby fair as a vendor, and I made $200 selling my jewellery. I can't tell you how psyched I am! I'm excited, but now, I realise that I'm nearly out of stuff to sell (I sold nearly three-quarters of my current stock, and Christmas shoppign season -is- coming up).

This weekend, I'm off to Vertigo. It's my first big SCA event! Finally! I've apparently been drafted to be the loudmouth herald, so I'm trying to stay as healthy as can be, all things considered. Colds suck.

Question for the SCAdians: What should I pack for the event? We're staying in cabins, but there's very little room, and I'll probably get the floor, and the weather's supposed to be seventies, so it'll at least be nice and sunny, but it is the Midwest. Weather changes at the drop of a hat. Help a newbie SCAdian, will ya?

Well, I really should head off to bed soon.

Night, y'all.
