There's a stack of about four here in Maryville. Send money for me to buy and send it to you, and I will.

Well, I'm getting better. My voice is starting to go, but I can now keep food down. It's a trade-off I'll take. Meanwhile, it gives me time to work on the icon project for Queen's Prize. My current shopping list comes to $60, which just proves that I can do this inexpensively. A lot of the paints will get used for other things (other icons, mayhaps), and it's not like I'll use all of the gold leafing. At least, I hope I don't.

Meanwhile, I've been dealing with some unusual circumstances... )

Anyway, I'm going to go to bed. Maybe. Sleep is good.

I now officially love the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Byzantine Art!

If only you could see how far my jaw has dropped. I am squeeing now. And this is why I chose what I did. It purty.

I'm a trim fanatic.

No two ways about it.

I think I may stick this on the blue-surcote-of-doom.

Opinions?

And...this is pictorial evidence of what I've gotten done. Granted, this photo is from day one, and not day...uh...four? But, you can see what I still need to do (I will have to BADLY reinforce the neck and arms). Any pointers would be much appreciated! :D

So, I've started the surcote and have already run into problems: I cut the main part of the garment too small, so I have to make a few more gores. Bah. I hate sewing. That being said, four of the gores are sewn together, and those are at least on the surcote.

I told you I was insane.

Would I be considered insane if I even contemplated handsewing the blue surcote of doom project that's been relegated to the fabric stash at the moment?

I'm hedging my bets toward insane, but I also don't want to drag my sewing machine upstairs to the mess that is my house. That, and I also don't have a well-lit flat space to even think using the machine on. BTW, said machine needs a name. :D
