Looked at parts of the Manesse Codex last night, and you can start to see the inspiration from it. Painted the Barony of Three Rivers' device, and started work on the Kingdom's device. Added musicians to the bit below, and added a background to the gallery. Have definitely decided to change the man into a woman, and I'm planning on redoing the helmets on the fighters.

Still to do:

Couple more coats of paint in the gallery
More flowers on the rosebush
Paint in the musicians
Paint in the dividers
Finish the figures in the gallery
Finish the fighters
Add gold paint to the banners (because, as much as I adore leafing, I don't have the budget for it)

Put some of the gold paint on the banners, though that'll need to be redone as time progresses. I also started in with painting the figures, and put closed helms on the fighters. I think they look better, though, I'm a little concerned about the fighter on the left. I'm still working on the gallery, and the bottom third, but all things considered, this is coming together FAST.

Added the flowers, though I think I'll add another layer of red to really make them pop. I also painted in the drummer, as well as start on the trumpeter. I also need to futz with the woman in the gallery in green. Something's just not coming together right.

I am definitely loving Calontir's banner. I think this makes me the happiest, in terms of form. And it stands out, but not so much that it overpowers the painting, which was my first concern with it.
