No more will I travel, No more will I roam.
No more will I wander on salty sea foam."
- Leaving Song, Andrixos Seljukroctonis

Home is a wonderful place, and I felt at home with this event. Thank you, Vatavia.

One. I know too many big words. But not as many as [livejournal.com profile] baronnemelisend.

Two. Valor was amazing. And I am so happy I got to go.

Headed out to Bethany, waited for [livejournal.com profile] newcastleepl and [livejournal.com profile] ermenrich. Played car Tetris, then headed out for Wichita. Since most of the trip was done in the dark, it seemed to take a while. We sung along with the Calontir learning CD (and one CD that may or may not be a Calontir learning CD), and farbled. A lot. Four hours is quite a bit of time to waste. Maybe we should have played word association.

Anyway. Got to site, trolled through, pitched tents, and then went off in search of adventure. We found it, and eventually, we scattered about. I didn't get to bed until late.

Woke up early, and helped cry morning announcements, and any other announcement that needed to be run. When I needed to rest my voice, I went and learned about pewtercasting and soapstone carving. While I wasn't able to carve anything (I have a design, though!), I learned a lot. His Highness, Hirsch, called me a fount of knowledge. I am so screwed. And maybe I'll go to Metalworker's. Maybe.

I helped teach dance, as well, (Just one dance, Gelosia, and this I called while dancing. I can do this. Without papers and stuff to get in the way.) I went to the ball, danced a few dances, and then bardic circle. One of the things that I realise is usually out of anyone's hands is that balls are held at the same time as bardic circles, which means that people like me have to make hard decisions. I hate making decisions like that. *sigh*

Sunday I wasn't up quite so early. Anyway. After that, I hung out with [livejournal.com profile] baronnemelisend and [livejournal.com profile] valr, who I think is a pretty nifty guy (and yes, I do suppose you're right in that Ruaidhri has a Constantia homing beacon. All right. You win), and his lady and with [livejournal.com profile] wombat_girl and watched fighting and talked about a lot of different things. Court happened, Glendour's knighting occurred, and then it was off to be all social. Bardic circle! :D I watched most of the Valor tournament, and I am so excited that [livejournal.com profile] adhemarchartres won, beating Duke Lorell with an absolutely beautiful kill. I also hung out with [livejournal.com profile] evil_fionn and [livejournal.com profile] beccalynnlaw, and [livejournal.com profile] snailstichr, and was invited to join them, and the rest of Grimfells, for dinner. This was one of my favourite things, for I got to meet new people, and learn so much about a part of the kingdom I've never been, and the people there. And of course, the food was fantastic. Thank you so much for inviting me, [livejournal.com profile] beccalynnlaw. I hope we can do something like that again in the future. Gillie's Laurelling was amazing, and I have to admit, I love the fact that her entire family, including Ellie, were all involved. Ellie even got a Chalice, and then in her mom's Laurelling, carried a cup of wine as part of tradition. That morning, Duncan Bruce of Logan had a missive to deliver: his own boon. (The full story can be found on his journal.) He sat vigil all day, and Sunday night, was made a Pelican.

Yes, I saw all three Peerage ceremonies. At one event. I'm starting to get it.

Sunday night, I was dragged off to the Mongols. I didn't stay long, as some patrons were smoking, and that did get to my allergies. So, back to the bardic circle. Plenty of fun, including having Nerf weaponry for A Grazing Mace. [livejournal.com profile] rhodri2112 bopped me on the head a good couple of times before I took the mace away from him. And then bopped him with it, before throwing it to someone else. Went back to the Mongols after the circle, watched a competition on who had the best boobs (and remarkably, no clothing was shucked off), and pulled an all nighter.

You see, I seem to have last event night insomnia. I want to wait up all night, before my Brigadoon disappears. So I did, all the time carrying memories of the event with me.

On the ride home, after I woke up from a nap, in Ottawa (Kansas, not Canada), [livejournal.com profile] ermenrich brought up the aforementioned Peerage Assignment Question Part A. We talked about this all the way to St. Joe, where [livejournal.com profile] corros picked me up to take me home.

In short, amazing, awesome, and incredible.

And so I can mention everyone I saw and hung out with (so no one feels hurt), I'm listing them. Ha. Ha ha ha ha.
