Oi.

I had a scary thing happen to me today. I lost circulation in my hands today. Like, completely. My middle two fingers (ring and middle) looked like wax, that's how little blood showed up. And remained that way for thirty minutes. I held nothing in my hands, and the temps outside were fairly nice (fifties).

So yes, I'm scared poopless. Because I'm a hypochondriac.

Other than that, I'm fine.

Um...

It's been a fairly boring day. Day off, went to Half Price Books, sold a few books I didn't need/want (got a whole $2 for 'em, too!), bought a pin with a portion of the Mona Lisa on it (the face). Westport-crawled, avoided the Hare Krishnas, got a cherry-vanilla Dr Pepper and onion rings from Sonic.

It's been a fairly boring day, other than the finger thing.

Once in a while, very rarely, like once a year or so, I'll just get falling-asleep tingly in my arms and in my cheeks.

It's uber-freaky. If it happened any more often than it does I would tell a doctor about it. So yeah. Brrrrr...

See, what makes it worse is that I've got really low blood pressure, and really crappy circulation on top of it all. My hands are always cold, so...yeah, this scares me.

As for the tingly stuff, it happens a lot in my legs.

Wow. I can think of little worse than a hypochondriac with actual symptoms of something. ;)

If you're paranoid, that doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

You have Hare Krishnas? I kinda miss them. They were a pleasant distraction in the little uberyuppie town of Winter Park, Florida, where Trish and I would walk some nights -- they'd start at the college at the end of town, dressed in their robes with tamborines and flutes, and run and chant down the street to the other end of town, and come back.

How's your hand? Any idea what happened?

Yes, we do. Welcome to Kansas City, a wonderfully backwards metropolitan city.

My hand is fine...for now. Dr Mom seems to think it's possibly carpal tunnel, but I don't see how that would cause numbness in both hands at the same time.

Health things are scary, even when they can be medically explained. I'm sorry it happened.

The pin sounds cool though.

It is. I'm going to have to scan it, it's that cool.

And it's interesting. Most of my pins in my pin collection have human or human-like faces on 'em.

And a side note. I have both a pen and a pin collection. I have issues.
