ARGH!
I'm pissed with my mom.
I mean, I understand why she doesn't want to, but...good LORD, woman.
Okay, here's the sitch.
I'm going to be visiting
antistotic.
You're probably going, "uh, yeah. You've only being telling us about that for the past four million weeks."
Stay with me.
Since I don't drive, I have to take the Greyhound to get there, to the 'Ville. That's not a problem. It's actually not too bad of a price range, if you think about it. But anyway.
I've found a fairly easy way to get there.
It's just getting to the bus station from work. And my mother refuses to drive me there. I don't blame her. Nine thirty is not a good time for her to be up. Her biological clock is telling her to go to bed. Mine's telling me to wake up for the thirty-seven millionth time.
I've got no choice. The only bus that goes to Maryville leaves at one in the morning from here, KC. I'm not going to drag my friends out of bed at six o'clock in the morning to come and pick me up in St Joseph. I'm evil, but I'm not THAT evil.
That being said, I've got to wait at the bus station. I get off work at 9:30-ish. At night. Thursdays are our late nights at work. Which means, that if I took the city bus (which I'll end up doing), I'd be out in a part of KC that's not so great (downtown and Eleventh and Troost), waiting at the city bus station with my luggage, just to get to another not-so-nice part of town, where I'm going to have to walk to. And there's also no flex time. If a bus is late, I'm screwed. I'm going to be carrying money. And clothes. And stuff I'll need to get around town.
I'm going to get my passport holder out of storage. I figure that it can't hurt to have that on me. Either that, or stuff my money in my bra, unless you guys know of something. This is where I wish I had steel-toed combat boots with the pocket on the inside to hold stuff. Would so come in handy.
On a good note, I can still disguise myself as a guy, if need be.
So.
I ask all of you for prayers, etc. as I go to Maryville. Especially safety. Thanks.

Date: 2005-03-17 09:02 am (UTC)What makes you think you can disguise yourself as a guy? Being a guy isn't just crotch scratching and peeing with the seat up. Being a guy is tough. I struggle with it every day and I am a guy. One mis-step and boom! S'not so easy.

Date: 2005-03-20 12:55 am (UTC)I've done it before. Not only that, I dressed up as Darth Maul my freshman year of college. That was fun. I had little kids come up to me and ask to take pictures with them. *grin* And yes, both parents and kids weren't too sure whether or not I was male or female.
