Mrs
vesta_venus,
I just know realised something. Your persona and my persona were more than likely around at the same time.
I'm being so totally random.
I know.
So, research-wise on Byzantine history. Oh my, is it fascinating and juicy all at the same time. It's simply amazing.
It really is.
Theodora remains one of my favourite personages historically.
She's just...wow.
Yeah.
I'm a geek.

Date: 2006-05-07 05:11 pm (UTC)I live in 540 Ireland. I picked 540 because Brigid died in 425 and with a brithdate of 523, I wanted to have overlapped with her. I was raised in her monestary and wanted to have been blessed by her as a child.
King Arthur died in 535 or 537 (or so they say) and I wanted to be able to tell Arthurian stories.
I didn't want to make my persona too old because I wanted her to be still in bardic school and be a bard in training. Thusly, I arrived at 540.
So many people pick time period based on what garb looks good on them. Did I? No I picked a time period that fascinated me and that fit with the persona I wanted to create. Which is why my garb makes me look like I have the figure of a blob.
What have you figured out about Theodora?

Date: 2006-05-08 01:30 am (UTC)I picked the Byzantine culture, not because of the clothes (though it helped), but just because the culture fascinated me so very, very much. It's amazing. It's also a place where I feel comfortable in my faith, and where it's a very big thing in her life.
