I had a bad case of insomnia last night.

So I played around with lighting and camera settings and yeah.

One of these days, I'll be able to make a living off of art. Maybe. I hope so.

Another idea with a candle would be to have the candle on a surface (won't be seen since it'll be dark) and have just the face/hands lit.

You do assume correctly. I didn't want to foul up a decent medieval-looking scene by wearing my big honkin' plastic glasses (though, if you look hard, you can see my tee shirt underneath).
