Lemme sum up.
This weekend was particularly devoid of Halloween celebrations on my part. And, we didn't get any trick-or-treaters (though, with the trip into St. Joe, I was able to get more supplies to bling out the Byzantine), due to getting back laaaate. So, I sewed. And when my hands started hurting, I switched to working on a pair of faery wings for a later photoshoot. I'm nearly done wrapping the wire with floral tape. I'll let that sit for a few days, and then have fun breathing in glitter and fumes from spray adhesive.
Speaking of Byzantine: the row in gold glass and amethyst is done. I'm also planning on ordering trim as soon as I can. I'm also planning on replacing the salmon stripes (in costumers' terms, the clavi) on my overtunic (tunica) with trim, and then embroidering the roundels (segmentae) on my undertunic (dalmatic). While this then limits the use of the white gown to just the Byzantine (and future Byzantine uses), it will finish off the whole look. After this, I need to work on the headgear. It's essentially a drawstring bag that goes on the back half of the head. It's either that, or a turban, but I'm not really wanting to go with a turban. If I have time, then I'll add trim and roundels to my cloak, but that may wait until later.
Dealing with some weird pre-cog/premonition dreams. I'll probably post friends-only about those, though.
Still no word about my stepgrandmother.
Mom's in a substantially better mood. Talked with her about what's going on with church stuff, and she's excited about the music they're singing.
For those people who may not have a place to go for Thanksgiving (and are relatively close to the KC area), and want to be around them (and consequently, me), let me know. We may have some room this year at the table. I might even see if I can convince my parents to smoke a ham, too. My parents love to cook and to entertain, and it'll be a quieter celebration this year.
