Work, today. Really wasn't that bad, until my boss had some not-so-good news. All I ask, is that my praying friends, is that you pray for her sister and her family. It's a very rough time, right now.
Other than that, the day wasn't half bad. Picked up
antistotic's birthday present, sixteen days late (better late, than never), as well as my DM's wedding presents.
And then, went home, and watched Lüther and Shall We Dance. Yeah, so one's all historical, and the other's a chick flick. Lüther, I loved loved loved, because the role of Martin Lüther was played with such passion by Joseph Fiennes, and I honestly saw the passion that Lüther had for the common man. (I know, Protestant talkin', here.)...oh, yes. The soundtrack kicked butt.
Shall We Dance, I liked, as well. It's rare in Hollywood, these days, to find a movie that is clean. We found one in this one. Aside from the use of the word "ass", both my mother and I were very impressed. No double entendres, no sex, no nudity, but we did find a character who was devoted to his wife, and that he wanted to impress her, if you will.
It preaches about marriage, too. The wife of the protagonist, said this line:
"We need a witness to our lives. There's a billion people on the planet... I mean, what does any one life really mean? But in a marriage, you're promising to care about everything. The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things... all of it, all of the time, every day. You're saying 'Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness'."
I fell in love with that line.
antistotic: somewhere, somehow, we will fit this into our marriage vows. I love you.
Just do me a favour: rent these movies. Clean, educational (Lüther, at least), fun (Shall We Dance)...and good.
Now, off to bed. Church in the morn.
Amen.
