Isn't it ironic, don'tcha think?
Yeah, so the one day I actually start feeling halfway human, is the day I had my appointment with my doctor. He's improved in bedside manner, thank goodness, but it still didn't help things out.
First off, poked and prodded. I went ahead and wrote down my symptoms since Wednesday, which did help. So, Dr Holly got my full list of migraine, nausea, upset stomach, lethargy, the feeling of needing to sleep for more than thirteen hours, coughing, low grade temp, and the sudden pain of a stiff, painful lumbar and neck.
So, after that, poked in my painful back (that wasn't fun), then, it was off to pee in the cup. That was not fun, especially since I was bone dry. So, I stood there for a good while drinking water while the nurse watched. Ah, there's nothing like bringing back memories of those scary-as-Satan-and-Snape school nurses. Anyway. I peed in the cup, and got released with a prescription for my back pain (500mgs of Naproxen, twice daily, for twenty days, plus an optional refill) and a diagnosis of, "it's viral. I'm not sure what exactly it is, but it's viral." He even wrote "viral...something" on my chart. When I get the call about my blood work, I'll know more, but I've got to head back to work tomorrow.
Bleh.
I still feel horrid, but not as badly as before.
And to think, my biggest fear was that they'd do a lumbar puncture.
Silly imagination.
