Would I be considered insane if I even contemplated handsewing the blue surcote of doom project that's been relegated to the fabric stash at the moment?
I'm hedging my bets toward insane, but I also don't want to drag my sewing machine upstairs to the mess that is my house. That, and I also don't have a well-lit flat space to even think using the machine on. BTW, said machine needs a name. :D

Date: 2008-06-26 03:01 pm (UTC)It's not insane to consider hand-sewing, so long as you've got laurels about to coach. I started hand-sewing in a period quilting class I took at Costumer's Symposium some eleventy-billion years ago, and it looks much nicer than machine stitching. Particularly if done well. AND, I recall on the Kingdom Copes project that there were ladies who could hand-sew nearly as fast as I would machine-sew on such a project.
I'm spoiled right now... I have been doing more boffer stuff because the kids can play, and for that it has been quick and easy fun stuff, I can even use fun prints and such. Digital Camo wrap-pants are the next project for the littlest one. 8-)
