Well, if it's not SCA in my life, then it's church stuff. (always.)

Here we go. I have less than a week to put together something for my college aged kids for our kick-off Sunday. I'm thinking another movie night, but even I'm getting sick of those.

So.

Imagine yourself in college/back in college/college-aged, etc. What would get you through the door? What would get you involved? What would minister to you?

I know I'm missing questions. Answer ones you have. (It helps me fill in my own blanks.) I'm wanting inexpensive, profound, and something I can get done by Saturday night at the latest. Denomination of the ministry is Episcopalian, but is open to all faiths and backgrounds.

If you have something to post, even if it's silly, please post it. I welcome answers.

I am officially entering panic mode for Raid or Trade.

I don't have a ride yet (eep!), and so I'm trying to see if I even need to buy a tent or not, at least starting off (the answer is yes). Earth pimple (lrdfaelan, great phrase. I'm stealing it!) it will be, no lie, at least until I can afford a nice wall tent. Thankfully, I already own a sleeping bag. That's not something that's scaring me at the moment. I will even meet people in Bethany to save them time and gas, too. And I'm even offering to chip in for gas, provide direction from Bethany to site and back again, and I also don't take up a lot of room. I know it's early, but I figure I better get on the ball now and confirm things. (Mom was an event planner. Can you tell?)

If I don't go, I guess that'll be okay, but I'm jonesin' for a time with my Scadian pals. I don't get to see you guys all that often, and it saddens me. (which isn't to say that I'm not working on getting something started here in the 'Ville. It's just taking time.)

So, BFSers and nearby gentles, if you can't go, but you know someone who is, could you ask for me? If you need my email to give to people, use cowtownchick AT hotmail DOT com. I will be indebted to you! (and it gives you an opportunity to have a servant-for-a-day in payment, with terms to be discussed at a later time and date. Oh. I can't believe I forgot.

I need to come up with a Halloween costume at work again this year. I'm saving my original idea of Skwisgaar Skwigelf for the Dethklok concert that lost_in_mowhere is invariably dragging me to November 17th at KU (He's already come up with we all need to dress up as members of Dethklok, with Anti as Murderface, Anti's brother as Pickles, lost_in_mowhere as Nathan Explosion, and my little brother as Toki), mostly because long hair of any kind, artificial or not doesn't do well in food service.

SO.

What ideas do you have? I'm thinking something along the drag route, because I want to surprise people. It's fun. I was even thinking James Dean, but then again, how many people my age know who James Dean is? I asked a girl today, and she responded with, "the breakfast sausage guy?" *sigh* Keep in mind that I have certain limitations as work, including the fact I cannot wear skirts, my hair has to be put up in a hair retention device (and I HATE hairnets), and where I work is hot, and I have to fry things. I'd like to avoid catching fire.
